Who I am & what I do
I am Tori, a freelance journalist, host, and format developer. My work operates at the intersection of sociopolitics and pop- and subculture. My aim is to combine the highest standards of journalism with cinema-level aesthetics. In doing so, I have developed, co-created, and hosted television formats and online shows for major clients and media houses.
While completing my studies in Journalism and Communication Studies at the University of Vienna, I worked as a staff writer and host at Vice from 2014 to 2018. Since then, I have been a freelance journalist and host, working for publications including Die Zeit and ZDF. From 2021 to 2023, I was the host and face of AUX, a weekly music and pop culture magazine on the TV channel Canal+ Austria. I have hosted major events for clients such as Ars Electronica, Boiler Room, and Red Bull. Through my passion for pop culture and music, I have also established a flourishing career as a DJ.
My work has been praised by some of Austria’s renowned journalists and was awarded the Prälat Unger Recognition Prize for outstanding journalistic achievements, shortlisted at the International Music Journalism Awards at the Reeperbahn Festival, and commendably mentioned in the "30 under 30" list by The Austrian Journalist ("Österreichs Journalist:in”) in 2021.
I am based in Vienna, Austria, with cultural ties to Nigeria, Sweden, and the US, as my family tree is all over the place.
